Softball Recap: Hamilton Snags 12th Win in Last 15 Games

Hamilton won the last time they faced Casteel and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Huskies put the hurt on the Colts with a sharp 7-1 win. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

Jazmin Ramirez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Taylor Hampton, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Amanda Benites, who went 3-for-4 with three runs.

Hamilton has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Casteel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.

Hamilton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Casteel: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
