Baseball Recap: Ben Lomond Drops Season-High Score on Roy

Ben Lomond scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 28-10 to the Roy Royals. The Scots haven't had much luck with the Royals recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Cade Becraft made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Koban Moyes also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Even though they lost, Ben Lomond always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Ben Lomond's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Roy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ben Lomond will square off against South Summit at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Summit has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.2 runs per game on average), something Ben Lomond will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Roy, they will take on Fremont at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Roy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Fremont has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
