Basketball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for South Stanly

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only South Stanly walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Avery County Vikings on Tuesday, sneaking past 70-67. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rowdy Rebel Bulls have posted since December 13, 2024.

Despite the loss, Avery County still got an impressive performance from Landon Liner, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Liner a new career-high in steals (four). Another player making a difference was Kaleb Liner, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

South Stanly's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Avery County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-12.
