Softball Game Preview: Eisenhower Knights vs. Mercyhurst Prep Lakers

The Eisenhower Knights will face off against the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mercyhurst Prep took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Eisenhower, who comes in off a win.

Eisenhower is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Smethport with a sharp 16-1 win on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Knights needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Meanwhile, Mercyhurst Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 9-4 to Union City.

Rylee Beebe put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Abby Bender made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Mercyhurst Prep's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Eisenhower, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
