Basketball Recap: Maplewood Comes Up Short

If Maplewood was feeling good fresh off their 53-28 takedown of Wilmington last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between the Maplewood Tigers and the Rocky Grove Orioles didn't end well, with the Maplewood Tigers falling 62-48. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Orioles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Noah Baughman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rocky Grove, going 7 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points. Baughman's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Schiffer Anderson, who posted six points and 11 assists.

Maplewood now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Rocky Grove, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Maplewood will take on Calvary Baptist Christian Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Rocky Grove, they will challenge Jamestown at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
