Baseball Recap: Lehi Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lehi, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 15-10 win over the Pleasant Grove Vikings on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Pioneers: when they faced off against the Vikings on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-3 loss.

Lehi got a massive performance out of Mays Madsen, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Madsen has become a key player for the Pioneers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 8-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brandon Manookin, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Lehi kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Lehi pushed their record up to 12-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pleasant Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-4 record this season.

Lehi will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pleasant Grove: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
