Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Peotone

Peotone won the last time they faced Streator, and Mal Schroeder did her part to make sure it happened again. The Peotone Blue Devils blew past the Streator Bulldogs 55-35 on Thursday thanks in part to Schroeder, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two).

Peyton Bisping was another key player, putting up eight points and ten assists. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leah Krohe, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Krohe is now averaging an impressive 8 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Rhea Huey, who posted six points and six rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Peotone and bumps their season record up to 6-18. As for Streator, they dropped their record down to 1-24 with the defeat, which was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Peotone wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-20 loss against Serena on the 1st. As for Streator, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-35 victory against Somonauk/Leland on the 1st.
