Softball Recap: East Carter Raiders vs. Elliott County Lions        
        
		
            
 East Carter can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent  game  on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Elliott County Lions  a   7-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but East Carter sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
  Payton Rice made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Rice was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Lydia Combs and  Adriana Cordle did most of the damage at the plate:  Combs  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4, while  Cordle  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in two of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Shelby Felty, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-4.
 On Elliott County's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Hanah McDaniel, who  went 1-for-3 with a  double.
 East Carter is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record  this season. As for Elliott County,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 8-6.
 East Carter will head out on the road to  square off against  Lewis County at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. East Carter is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for Elliott County, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  match,  a  12-5  loss vs. Mason County on the 19th.
