Softball Recap: East Carter Raiders vs. Elliott County Lions
East Carter can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Elliott County Lions a 7-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but East Carter sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Payton Rice made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Rice was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Lydia Combs and Adriana Cordle did most of the damage at the plate: Combs scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Cordle scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
