Recap: Sterling Raiders vs. Galena Park Yellowjackets

Sterling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 11-1 walloping at the hands of the Galena Park Yellowjackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sterling of the 17-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Sterling saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jerrion Jetter Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

On Galena Park's side, Logan Erebia looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Hector Arrieta was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Dave Correa, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI.

Sterling will be playing at home against Waltrip at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Galena Park, they will head out on the road to take on Carnegie Vanguard at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Galena Park's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Carnegie Vanguard's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
