Fairview has gone a perfect 3-0 against Fort Collins recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Lambkins at 6:30 p.m. Fairview knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Fort Collins likes a good challenge.
Fairview's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 56-0 victory over Prairie View. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Thunderhawks: they've now won five in a row.
Ki Ellison continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 140 yards and three TDs on only nine passes. Joby Saad was another key player, rushing for 57 yards and one score on only seven carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Fairview's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Fort Collins over Horizon in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Lambkins blew the Hawks out of the water with a 52-7 final score. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Lambkins' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Hawks are ranked 93rd).
Fairview better focus on containing Jack McKeon and Justin Cranford as the pair were huge in Fort Collins' win. McKeon rushed for 108 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, while Cranford threw for 235 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.2% of his passes. Diego Romero was in the mix as well, providing Fort Collins with one score.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Fort Collins proved: they limited Horizon to a paltry -0.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Ben Stenger for the heroic effort on defense: he. Fort Collins didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.4.
Fort Collins didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kaden Souders and Jaden Smith. Smith got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Fairview's record is now 5-1. As for Fort Collins, their record now sits at an identical 5-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Fairview has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 179.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Fort Collins struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 185.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Fairview strolled past Fort Collins in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 68-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
