Volleyball Recap: Iola Comes Up Short

Iola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Waverly Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Saturday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Iola sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 24-26, 25-19.

Iola's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Waverly, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1-3.

Iola has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Rossville on the 6th. As for Waverly, they will square off against Madison on Tuesday.
