Preview: Brookfield Warriors vs. Champion Golden Flashes
Two dominant guards in Matteo Fortuna and Marky Nolan are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Brookfield Warriors will stay at home for another game and welcome the Champion Golden Flashes at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Brookfield is ranked 632nd, while Champion is ranked 653rd).
On Tuesday, Brookfield earned a 64-52 victory over Garfield. The win was just what Brookfield needed coming off of a 57-33 loss in their prior contest.
Champion suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Newton Falls 66-37. Champion has struggled against Newton Falls recently, as their game on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Brookfield's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Champion, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Brookfield was able to grind out a solid win over Champion in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 60-53. Will Brookfield repeat their success, or does Champion have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
