Central had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.4 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They walked away with a 42-30 win over the St. Martinville Tigers. The team accrued 31 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.

Despite the loss, St. Martinville still got an impressive performance from Kervin Fontenette, Jr., who went 6 for 7 on his way to 14 points and six boards. Those 14 points gave Fontenette, Jr. a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Raytyrion Narcisse, who posted ten points.

Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. As for St. Martinville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Central Wildcats face off against the Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodlawn-B.R. is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season. As for St. Martinville, they will host Erath at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
