Basketball Game Preview: Central Heights Vikings vs. Uniontown Eagles

After both having extra time off, the Central Heights Vikings and the Uniontown Eagles will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another on Friday. Central Heights has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with six straight defeats, while Uniontown will come in with three straight wins.

Central Heights fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Jayhawk Linn two weeks ago but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 32-31 to the Jayhawks.

Meanwhile, Uniontown hadn't done well against Erie recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Friday. Uniontown enjoyed a cozy 58-44 victory over Erie. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Red Devils are ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Uniontown pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Central Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Central Heights was able to grind out a solid victory over Uniontown in their previous matchup back in January, winning 65-55. Will Central Heights repeat their success, or does Uniontown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
