Basketball Game Preview: South Tahoe Vikings vs. Wooster Colts

The South Tahoe Vikings will square off against the Wooster Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Tahoe knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Wooster likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, South Tahoe was able to grind out a solid win over North Valleys, taking the game 62-55.

South Tahoe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ronan Fisher, who went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points and six boards. Fisher is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryder Tannaci, who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

South Tahoe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Wooster unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against Hug, falling 69-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Colts have suffered since December 18, 2024.

South Tahoe's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Wooster, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-13.
