Baseball Recap: Dumont Comes Up Short

Dumont came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-2 to the NV - Demarest Norsemen. The loss continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Norsemen: they've now lost four in a row.

Dumont saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Mertz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Mertz hit this season.

Dumont's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for NV - Demarest, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

When Dumont and NV - Demarest next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Huskies will try to stop Hasbrouck Heights' three-game winning streak when they meet at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, NV - Demarest will square off against Passaic Valley and their seven-game winning streak at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
