Soccer Game Preview: Mortimer Jordan vs. Cullman

Mortimer Jordan hasn't had much luck against Cullman recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Blue Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. Mortimer Jordan has given up an average of 4.9 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mortimer Jordan is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Hartselle, falling 6-1. That's two games in a row now that Mortimer Jordan have lost by exactly five goals.

Their goal came courtesy of Gabe Arnold, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Cullman had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.6 goals) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Cullman, who have now won ten games by three goals or more so far this season.

Cullman pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 47 goals over those nine matches. As for Mortimer Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Mortimer Jordan might still be hurting after the 6-2 loss they got from Cullman in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
