Softball Recap: Freedom Comes Up Short

Freedom fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Ashe County on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 10-7 to the Huskies. The Patriots just can't catch a break and have now endured eight defeats in a row.

Englani Campbell was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-4.

Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Ashe County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Freedom wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-11 victory against Watauga on the 15th. As for Ashe County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-6 defeat against South Caldwell on the 15th.
