Volleyball Recap: Newman Takes a Loss

If Newman was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Gann Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Newman lost 3-0 to the Cambridge Gryphons on Wednesday. Newman was not able to make up for their loss to Cambridge from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Cambridge can attribute much of their success to Sofia Shultz, who had nine digs and three aces.

Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cambridge, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Newman will head out on the road to take on Mount St. Charles Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Cambridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Montrose at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
