Basketball Game Preview: Olentangy Braves vs. Marysville Monarchs

Olentangy and Marysville are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Olentangy Braves will host the Marysville Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after three-games, but that won't be the case come Friday.

Olentangy is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Westland: they outscored them in every quarter. Olentangy enjoyed a cozy 83-66 win over Westland on Saturday.

Ty Walburn and Jay Agrawal were among the main playmakers for Olentangy as the former went 6 of 13 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds and the latter went 7 of 14 on his way to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Walburn a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Page, who posted ten points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Marysville was able to grind out a solid victory over Chillicothe on Tuesday, taking the game 52-44.

Marysville's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Olentangy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Olentangy beat Marysville 54-44 in their previous matchup back in February. Does Olentangy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marysville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
