Baseball Recap: Windsor Comes Up Short

Windsor extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 8-18 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hillsboro Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-2 on Thursday.

Windsor saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Haegele, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

As for Hillsboro, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-11. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games.

On Hillsboro's side, the team relied heavily on Keynen Drury, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Looking ahead, Windsor will be playing at home against Pacific at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Owls' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hillsboro, they will head out on the road to challenge Fox at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
