League recap: McAllister overpowering for Marvelwood in past week

Hudson Valley league recap: 5/22/13

Hudson Valley's top pitcher this week was Marvelwood's Edward (ned) Mcallister. He picked up one win and nine strikeouts.

The Pterodactyls (9-2, 5-1) are riding a league-best 5-game winning streak. One of those wins came in the past week,.

The Pterodactyls boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The highest batting average in the league this week belonged to Marvelwood's Jacob Berg, who churned out two hits in three at bats for a .667 average. For the season, he's hitting .743, good for second in the league. Berg has totaled 26 hits this season.

Berg hit an excellent .667 for the Pterodactyls. His season batting average leads the league at .743.



Marvelwood's Berg struck out nine Storm King hitters en route to a 6-4 victory on May 18. Over three innings of work, he gave up one hit and zero runs.
