Volleyball Recap: Savannah Arts Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Savannah Arts Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Glynn Academy Terrors. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their five-match losing streak.

Savannah Arts Academy never let Glynn Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22.

Savannah Arts Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maggie Allen, who had 11 digs and three aces. Allen has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played. Natalie Lehto was another key player, getting five digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Savannah Arts Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in four consecutive contests.

Savannah Arts Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-26. As for Glynn Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 25-13.

Savannah Arts Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Richmond Hill on the 7th. As for Glynn Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Evans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
