Softball Recap: Del Campo Comes Up Short

Del Campo had lost five straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-15 to make it six. They lost 15-5 to the Roseville Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in March.

Alisha Taylor made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Roseville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games.

On Roseville's side, Isabella Senini was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Senini has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Roseville got a massive performance out of Jasmine Hale, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Hale has posted since back in March. Marley Davis also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Del Campo will welcome Yuba City at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Honkers' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Roseville, they will host Nevada Union at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are facing the Miners at the right time seeing as the Miners are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
