Softball Game Preview: Fontana Steelers vs. Calvary Baptist Cougars

The Fontana Steelers will face off against the Calvary Baptist Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fontana came up short against San Gorgonio on Wednesday, falling 19-7. The Steelers haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Fontana saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylynn Colclasure, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Calvary Baptist's good fortune finally ran out last Wednesday. They lost 11-0 to Southlands Christian. The Cougars were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the seven contests prior), but the Eagles' pitcher proved too tough.

Calvary Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Fontana, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Fontana has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Calvary Baptist struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.2 hits.
