Volleyball Recap: Caney Creek Takes a Loss

Caney Creek was the 3-1 winner over New Caney when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Eagles on Tuesday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Caney Creek ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 19-25, 25-21.

Carolina Caudillo paced Caney Creek's offense, picking up seven kills. Caudillo got some help from Marissa Solorzano and her 23 assists.

Caney Creek's loss dropped their record down to 14-24. As for New Caney, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 16-23 record.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Caney Creek will face off against rival Conroe at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, New Caney is set to take on their familiar foe The Woodlands at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
