Baseball Recap: Martin County Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

It's playoff time, and Martin County had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Durant Cougars 3-2.

Michael Sanchez looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Martin County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Perry, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Perry has posted since back in March.

Martin County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Durant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-10.

Martin County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair will be back at it again later today.
