Football Preview: Haines City Hornets vs. Specially Fit Academy Rams
Two dominant backs in Kamari Smith and Wesley Gibson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Haines City Hornets will welcome the Specially Fit Academy Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Haines City will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Haines City is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by George Jenkins to the tune of 56-28 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Hornets have posted since November 3, 2023.
Haines City found their leader in sophomore Smith, who rushed for 158 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. Those 158 rushing yards gave Smith a new career-high. Blake Herrington was another key player, throwing for 180 yards and a touchdown on perfect 11-for-11 passing.

Haines City was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as George Jenkins only rushed for 77.
Meanwhile, Specially Fit Academy has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 13.75 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit last Monday. They were dealt a 46-14 loss at the hands of Lakeland. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Dreadnaughts are ranked third).
Haines City's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Specially Fit Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
