Basketball Game Preview: Wheeler Eagles vs. Biggersville Lions

Wheeler hasn't had much luck against Biggersville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wheeler Eagles will head out to face off against the Biggersville Lions at 6:00 p.m. Wheeler is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.

Wheeler took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 43-36 win over Baldwyn.

Wheeler found their leader in freshman Marli Kate Shockley, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Biggersville took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 70-21 victory over Tupelo Christian Prep. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 29 points or more this season.

Biggersville's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Wheeler, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.

Wheeler took a serious blow against Biggersville in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 65-31. Can Wheeler avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
