Softball Recap: Madison Highland Prep Takes a Loss

Madison Highland Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 27-6 to the Leading Edge Academy - GEC Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Heat of the 28-17 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Madison Highland Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Leading Edge Academy - GEC, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison Highland Prep will venture away from home to challenge Red Rock at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Scorpions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.89 runs per game on average), something the Heat will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Leading Edge Academy - GEC, they are taking a road trip to face off against Pima at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Roughriders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
