Softball Recap: Texas Tigers vs. Whitehouse Wildcats        
        
		
            
 After flying high against Marshall  last Tuesday, Texas came back down to earth. The Texas Tigers took  a  7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whitehouse Wildcats on Friday. The  defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Texas in their matchups with Whitehouse: they've now lost three in a row.
  Eva Treadway put in work no matter where she played. She  tossed seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and three unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Treadway has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Treadway was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with  an  RBI.
 Treadway wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Mally Lumpkin, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Preslie Clopp, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Texas' loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 15-8-1. As for Whitehouse, the  victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-5-1.
 Coincidentally,  both teams will both be playing Mt. Pleasant the next time they take the field. Whitehouse will head out to face Mt. Pleasant at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday, while Texas will head out to face them  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
