Basketball Recap: Mt. Morris Takes a Loss

Mt. Morris was the 75-72 winner over Ovid-Elsie when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mt. Morris Panthers came up short against the Ovid-Elsie Marauders on Tuesday, falling 87-63.

Mt. Morris' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 11-4. As for Ovid-Elsie, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Mt. Morris and Ovid-Elsie should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Mt. Morris (ranked 159th) will meet Lakeville (ranked 615th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Ovid-Elsie will face off against Hill-McCloy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 403 places (139 vs. 542).
