Alton took a 15-run loss the last time they faced off against Summersville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Comets skirted past the Wildcats 13-12. Considering the Comets' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The win snapped Alton's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-7 record. As for Summersville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alton will welcome Koshkonong at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Summersville, they will be playing at home against Cabool at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
