Volleyball Recap: North Newton Takes a Loss

North Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Rensselaer Central Bombers, falling 3-0. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Bombers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-9, 25-18.

Rylynn Klemz paced North Newton's offense, picking up eight kills. Klemz got some help from Riley Higgins and her six assists. Finally, Klemz was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Rensselaer Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Louck, who had 15 digs and six assists. Another player making a difference was Rylie Moore, who had three digs and three aces.

North Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Rensselaer Central, their record is now 12-7.

North Newton has already played their next contest (against Tri-County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Rensselaer Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Lafayette Central Catholic on the 4th.
