Basketball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Riverside couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Canyon Eagles on Thursday, falling 59-35. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Eagles are ranked ninth).

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 23-9. As for Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 22 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 28-4 record this season.

Riverside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canyon, they will take on Burkburnett on Monday.
