Basketball Game Preview: Shafter Generals vs. Taft Wildcats

The Shafter Generals will square off against the Taft Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Shafter is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Chavez just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans.

Meanwhile, Taft had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They snuck past the Thunderbirds with a 45-40 victory.

Shafter's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Taft, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Shafter didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Taft in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 61-57 win. Will Shafter repeat their success, or does Taft have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
