The Swanton Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Eastwood Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Things were looking good for Swanton after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Elmwood by a score of 4-3.

Alexa Faber was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Faber wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carli LaGrange, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Eastwood entered their tilt with Maumee on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 5-2.
MacKenzie Hady spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, Jenna Lubash was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Bowe, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Eastwood lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Eastwood pushed their record up to 20-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Swanton, they now have a losing record of 13-14.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Swanton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Eastwood struggles in that department as they've averaged .349. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Swanton suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Eastwood in their previous matchup back in May of 2019. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
