Basketball Recap: Hugoton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cimarron on Tuesday, Hugoton came back down to earth. The Eagles took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Goodland Cowboys on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Cowboys: they've now lost seven in a row.

Hugoton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Goodland, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Hugoton and Goodland will both be playing Colby the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Eagles at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Cowboys will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
