Baseball Game Preview: Clinton Maroons vs. Cornerstone Christian Cyclones

The Clinton Maroons will challenge the Cornerstone Christian Cyclones at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Clinton didn't have quite enough to beat Lexington and fell 3-2.

Jack Manning put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Manning was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Manning wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Josh Bass, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases Bass has posted since back in March of 2024. Brock Wilson was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Blue Ridge on Monday. The Cyclones not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11, 2024.

Everything went Clinton's way against Cornerstone Christian when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Clinton made off with a 19-1 victory. Will Clinton repeat their success, or does Cornerstone Christian has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
