Baseball Recap: New Richmond Takes a Loss

New Richmond extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 13-4 in the process. They lost 7-1 to the Hudson Raiders. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

As for Hudson, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-3. Considering they have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Hudson's part, Mitchell Anderson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Anderson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bennett Brathol, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Logan Hagman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

While New Richmond had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
