Football Preview: Rock Hill Bearcats vs. Indian Land Warriors
The Rock Hill Bearcats will face off against the Indian Land Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Indian Land took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Rock Hill, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Rock Hill didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Clover, but they still walked away with a 27-21 win. The Bearcats pushed the score to 27-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Blue Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.
Rock Hill can attribute much of their success to Ian Grissom, who threw for 148 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Indian Land entered their game against Marvin Ridge on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Indian Land was outmatched by Marvin Ridge at home and fell 38-9. The loss was the Warriors' first of the season.
The losing side was boosted by Jamol Horton, who rushed for 120 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Indian Land wouldn't let Marvin Ridge keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Indian Land can thank Leonard Goethe Jr and Jackson Conner for forcing both of them. Another thorn in Marvin Ridge's side was Cj Petri, who made 15 total tackles.
Even though they lost, Indian Land was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 201 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 163 rushing yards in four consecutive matches.
Rock Hill's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Indian Land, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
