Soccer Recap: Cedar Ridge Comes Up Short

After flying high against Williams on Wednesday, Cedar Ridge came back down to earth. The Fighting Red Wolves lost 5-0 to the Eastern Alamance Eagles on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Cedar Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Eastern Alamance are ranked 23rd).

Cedar Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 5-4-1. As for Eastern Alamance, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1-1.

Coming up, Cedar Ridge will head out to challenge Orange at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Cedar Ridge will be up against Orange's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.11 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Eastern Alamance, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Western Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on the 21st. Eastern Alamance will need to watch out since Western Alamance have now posted at least four goals in their last nine matches.
