Austin has gone 6-1 against Grissom recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Black Bears will square off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Austin easily dispatched Bob Jones last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Black Bears fell just short of James Clemens by a score of 33-31 on Friday. The game was a 10-10 toss-up at halftime, but the Black Bears couldn't quite close it out.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Aidan Davis and Mj Gideon. Gideon had a great game and gained 250 total yards. Meanwhile, Davis was balling out in the loss, rushing for 118 yards and a pair of TDs.

Meanwhile, Grissom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Sparkman, falling 40-14. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Senators are ranked 99th).

Austin's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Grissom, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Austin against Grissom when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Black Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
