Soccer Game Preview: Pepperell vs. Model

Pepperell hasn't had much luck against Model recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pepperell Dragons will welcome the Model Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Pepperell has given up an average of 4.9 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Pepperell fell victim to Bremen and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 7-0. One thing that didn't help the Dragons' chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Emma Loveless.

Meanwhile, Model put another one in the bag last Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Model who was credited with the win. Model got it done in the shootout by posting ten goals to Rome's nine. Hennessy Reyes had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Blue Devils.

This is the second loss in a row for Pepperell and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Model, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Pepperell suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Model in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Can Pepperell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
