Volleyball Recap: Wilder Extends Winning Streak to Six

Wilder proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Liberty Charter Patriots 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on six straight.

Wilder had a senior duo take command as Nancy Ramirez had 26 digs, 11 kills, and three aces and Natalie Escutia had 28 digs, 11 kills, three blocks, and three aces. Escutia has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 22 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaelynn Perales, who had 18 digs and four aces.

Wilder was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. They served six more aces than Liberty Charter's also-impressive total of 14.

Wilder's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Liberty Charter, they moved to 14-13 with that loss, which also ended their ten-match winning streak.

Wilder does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty Charter, after both having extra time off, they and Butte County will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
