Softball Recap: Our Lady of Lourdes Takes a Loss

Our Lady of Lourdes had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-9 to make it nine. They fell just short of the Wallkill Panthers by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 back in April.

As for Wallkill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 10th.

For Wallkill's part, Grace Rodriguez was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Coming up, Our Lady of Lourdes will look to defend their home field on Friday against Rondout Valley at 4:15 p.m. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ganders have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Wallkill, they will face off against Red Hook at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
