Softball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Rancho Christian hit Heritage with a four-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Patriots lost 10-3 to the Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 back in March.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Rancho Christian, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Heritage will face off against Citrus Hill at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.45 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rancho Christian, they will host Perris at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
