Basketball Recap: Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lac qui Parle Valley last Tuesday, Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta came back down to earth. The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers were dealt a 73-43 loss at the hands of the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Mainstreeters are ranked 21st).

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points over those games. As for Sauk Centre, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2.

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta has already played their next matchup, a 69-45 defeat against Minnewaska Area on the 18th. As for Sauk Centre, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-52 victory against Camden/Minneapolis North on the 15th.
