Volleyball Recap: Luck Falls Short of Prairie Farm in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Luck can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Prairie Farm Panthers on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Prairie Farm scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Luck had strong showings from Sophie Eder, who had 16 digs, and Grace Mattson, who had eight digs and three aces. Eder has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Among those leading the charge was Madalyn Larson, who had 16 assists and six digs. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.

Luck's loss dropped their record down to 5-27. As for Prairie Farm, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-10.

Luck does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Prairie Farm, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against New Auburn on the 25th.
