Softball Recap: Routt Catholic Comes Up Short

Routt Catholic extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-11 in the process. They came up short against the Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia Trojans, falling 19-2. The Rockets were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-4. Considering they have won 13 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia's part, Addilynn Tracy and Mylee Tracy made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Tracy tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Mylee struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Tracy went 3-for-4 with three runs, while Mylee went 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia got a massive performance out of Raye Greenstreet, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Addison Rohn, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Routt Catholic has already played their next game, a 20-1 defeat against New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly on the 30th. As for Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Rushville-Industry on the 29th.
